Welcome to Typing Monkeys. I am your monkey-in-chief, and this is my eclectic collection
of seemingly unrelated topics, but actually interests (other would say obsessions) stuck in various corners of my deranged head. So what is
Typing Monkeys, you ask? It's the Internet home for Joel "DiG" DiGiacomo. Writer, Web consultant, humanitarian. Well, two out of three, anyway.
Football for Breakfast is my latest website creation that features daily pro football news from all the NFL hometown newspapers and national media.
It also is the forum for my unique opinions on the world of pro football. Anyway, give Football for Breakfast the once over and let me know what you think.
The P.O.B. Conspiracy is an award-winning short film I wrote and
co-produced (with director Steve Gibson and starring comedian Rob Maher) that world premiered at the D.C. Independent Film Festival and won a 2007 Silver Telly Award!
I also co-wrote (with comedian Rob Maher) another short, Death and Reproduction, that won the Grand Jury Award for Best Short
at the 2006 72 Film Fest. You can read all about our escapades as members of Team Open Bar in this
article (PDF download) from the Frederick News-Post.
Next up?
Well, I am working on a few projects (including a book) but it's a little early to yammer on about it.
Below on the left (or first if you have small screen) is Death and Reproduction in its entirety, and on the right (or second), the trailer for The P.O.B. Conspiracy.
Wolverine Files? Well, this is an obsessively compulsive project I started as a teen,
and the web seemed like a perfect location for it to live. In a nutshell, it is an excruciatingly detailed chronology of the early days of Marvel
Comics' anti-hero, Wolverine. And based on the amount of traffic it is generating, it seems to be quite popular. Oh, and did I mention I'm writing a
graphic novel? Not that Marvel is aware of it, but if anyone from Marvel is reading this, I'd be happy to share. :)
Warren Zevon in Concert is my tribute to the much neglected singer-songwriter, Warren Zevon. You may recall his first
big hit, 'Werewolves of London,' but his musical genius continued until his untimely death and his Grammy-winning and touching final album,
'The Wind" in 2003. I've cobbled together over 60 live concerts for free, legal downloads thanks to his son,
Jordan Zevon, and Archive.org.
So if you care to chat about short films, scriptwriting, writing, Wolverine, Zevon or
anything else, please don't hesitate to send me an e-mail me at dig@typingmonkeys.com.
