Captive Hearts, the fifth episode of the X-Men animated series, aired on January 30, 1993 and is a continuation from the previous episode, introducing the Morlocks into the X-Men animated series continuity.
On the downside, however, we do devolve into the soap opera of the Jean Grey-Logan-Cyclops love triangle. But on the bright side, when Callisto runs away during the fight sequence, Wolverine utters his classic line, “Oh, I love it when they play hard to get.”

Enter Magneto, the third episode of the X-Men animated series, aired on November 27, 1992 and introduced both Magneto and Sabretooth as villains, while continuing the season one plot line involving Beast’s incarceration.
For longtime fans, Wolverine’s hatred of Sabretooth was refreshing to see in a Saturday morning cartoon. As for the best line, it comes when Wolverine responds to Professor Xavier, “How come we’re supposed to trash your old enemy, but we gotta go easy on mine?”

Night of the Sentinels, Part II, the second episode of the X-Men animated series, aired on November 7, 1992 and concluded the opening story.
This is a very strong episode dealing with honor, consequences and death. And a terrific argument between Wolverine and Cyclops is reminiscent of the old days of the new X-Men.
Best Wolverine line of the episode (among many), “Hey Tin Woodsman. I’m sending you back to Oz… in pieces.”

The X-Men animated series debuted on Halloween 1992 and had a successful run of five seasons over six years, making it the longest-running Marvel Comics-based TV series.
All in all, it was a pretty good series with terrific opening credits and music. And Wolverine finally came into his own, as his voice actor, Cal Dodd, dropped his infamous Australian accent.
The pilot episode, Night of the Sentinels, was split into two parts, and featured a strong X-Men lineup, the sentinels and a series of classic Wolverine lines including, “I go where I wanna go. Outta my way, Gumbo.”
